SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - East Enterprise, IN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in East Enterprise are programs which are officially allowed to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment facility can get their basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation it has been granted.
