Regular out-patient recovery is usually a less expensive choice to more comprehensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal drug or alcohol rehab available in Ferdinand. Some clients are in rehab for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because of the cost and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. For many, regular outpatient is a step down to service following treatment in a more intense outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient facility.
Regular out-patient rehabilitation services involve some kind of group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Centers which offer a wider range of services may include psychotherapies (CBT) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. The length of time a client remains involved in treatment can vary, and a person's progress can be judged occasionally and an extension of treatment can be recommended based on these findings.
In many cases, a regular outpatient rehab program may be lacking in intensity for a client who is attempting to address a severe alcohol and drug issue and has never experienced recovery before or has fallen off the wagon following prior outpatient rehab.
