Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need substance abuse recovery services in New Salisbury, Medicare can cover certain recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses associated with outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
