Regular out-patient recovery is mostly a less costly alternative to more comprehensive outpatient options or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal drug or alcohol treatment available in Odon. Some people are in treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and logistically because of work, school or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a "step-down" from treatment in a more intense outpatient facility like a partial hospitalization or inpatient center.
Regular out-patient rehabilitation services involve some kind of individual and group counseling services occurring once or twice a week. Facilities which offer a more diverse range of services may include counseling (CBT) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. How long someone remains involved in recovery can change from client to client, and a person's improvement can be judged from time to time and an extension of rehab can be recommended based on these findings.
In many cases, a regular outpatient recovery facility is going to be lacking in intensity for a client who is facing a chronic drug and alcohol problem and has not gone to rehab before or has relapsed following prior outpatient rehabilitation.
