SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Poland, IN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Poland are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get auxiliary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, however, are required to get their full accreditation in a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the kind of accreditation that was given.
