The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
