For people with HIV/AIDS who also struggle with addiction, their pre-existing chronic medical condition is something that will need to be recognized and addressed at the same time they receive treatment for their drug addiction. This would include screening for Hepatitis A, B, and C, tuberculosis, other sexually transmitted diseases, dental issues, diabetes and mental health problems.
