Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
