The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
