The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people.
