SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Eastview, KY.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Eastview are programs who are officially permitted to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services aside from medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab facility can receive basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of certification that was given.
