The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
