SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Langley, KY.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Langley are programs which are legally permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation it has been granted.
