SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Mize, KY.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Mize are programs who are legally permitted to distribute the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab facility can get their basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the kind of certification that was given.
