The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals.
