The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Prospect are programs which are officially permitted to distribute the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements.
