The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
