Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require substance abuse recovery services in Monroe, Medicare can cover certain rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want supplemental health insurance in addition to what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
