The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals.
