The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
