The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
