The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
