The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
