The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
