Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees for outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental health insurance aside from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
