Opioid treatment facilities accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification it has been granted.
