SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Rock, MI.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Rock are programs which are officially allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment center can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment center is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the kind of accreditation it has been given.
