Regular out-patient treatment is mostly a less expensive choice to more comprehensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal drug or alcohol treatment available in Minnesota Lake. Some clients are in treatment for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of school, work or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a "step-down" to service following treatment in a more intensive outpatient center like a partial hospitalization or inpatient program.
Regular outpatient rehab services usually involve some kind of individual and group counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Centers which offer a more diverse spectrum of services may include psychotherapies (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. The length of time a person remains in treatment can change from client to client, and a person's progress can be judged every now and then and an extension of treatment can be suggested contingent upon these conclusions.
In some cases, a regular outpatient recovery program may be lacking in intensity for an individual who is attempting to address a chronic substance abuse issue and has not gone to recovery before or has fallen off the wagon following prior outpatient rehabilitation.
