The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency.
