The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people.
