The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
