Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for clients who want supplemental health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
