Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehabilitation in Lamar Heights, Medicare may cover certain treatment programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
