Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health care for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Mountain View, Medicare can pay for various rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs for outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want supplemental health insurance aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
