Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation it has been given.
