Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehabilitation in Washington, Medicare can cover certain rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees for outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications administered by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want additional health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
