The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
