SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers - Big Sandy, MT.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Big Sandy are programs who are legally permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can receive initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been granted.
