The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
