Regular out-patient rehabilitation is mostly a less expensive alternative to more comprehensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the lowest intensity of formal drug or alcohol rehabilitation available in Jud. Some individuals are attending treatment for the first time and have picked regular outpatient because of the cost and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of school, work or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a step down from treatment in a more intense outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient program.
Regular out-patient rehabilitation services usually have group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Centers that offer a more diverse spectrum of services may include psychotherapies (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. The length of time an individual remains involved in recovery can change from client to client, and a client's improvement can be assessed every now and then and an extension of treatment can be recommended contingent upon these evaluations.
In some cases, a regular outpatient treatment program is going to be insufficient in intensity for an individual who is addressing a severe substance abuse issue and has never experienced rehab previously or has relapsed after prior outpatient rehabilitation.
