Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
