Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Malcolm, this program may cover various rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want additional coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
