SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers - Orleans, NE.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Orleans are programs who are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment center is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification that was given.
