The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
