SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Hewitt, NJ.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Hewitt are programs that are legally allowed to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services aside from medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
