The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
