SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Lumberton, NJ.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Lumberton are programs who are legally allowed to dispense the medications used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can receive initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab center is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of certification that was given.
