SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Middlesex, NJ.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Middlesex are programs which are officially allowed to distribute the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary benefits in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can get their basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
