Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people who do have Medicare and need addiction rehabilitation in Mount Royal, Medicare will cover various rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want supplemental coverage aside from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
