SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - New Egypt, NJ.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in New Egypt are programs who are officially permitted to distribute the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, however, are required to get their full accreditation in a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification that was given.
